Yokohama at Night

It didn’t feel like 10 years had passed since I first went to Yokohama, in the winter, part of a student exchange program during high school. At that time, the tour guide said, in Japan, there are 3 of the most beautiful places at night, one of them is Minato Mirai Yokohama at night. Huaaaaa, I wanna see!!! At that time, we were in Yokohama only until late afternoon because we had to go straight to Tokyo, so we couldn’t see the night view. In my heart, someday I have to come here again at night. Finally, I could come here again, and at night! Even though it took 10 years for me to come here again, haha. Human may plan, but God who decides. Actually, I thought that within two years, I could come here again. As I love Japan so much, I had wanted to study bachelor in Japan. But it was canceled because I was accepted at ITB.

Unexpectedly, my friend invited me to stop by Yokohama first, before returning to Tokyo from Atami (Read : Ninja in Odawara and Atami Beach) as the route would pass through Yokohama. Arrived in Yokohama, we boarded the famous Ferris wheel! So surprised! It was truly beautiful as what Hami-san, the tour guide had said 10 years ago. ^^

After riding the Ferris wheel, I actually wanted to ride the jet coaster. However, as there was somebody who was panic and said the jet coaster wasn’t fun, it ended up we did not ride it, hahaha.

After that, we were planning to take a boat around Minato Mirai.  However, we couldn’t make it because it was closed. Well, unfortunately, when we just came, the last ship began to sail.

Finally, we decided to go to Yamashita Park. On the way, I started to feel pain in my feet. As I was wearing ankle boots, while walking a lot, my feet blistered. I walked very slowly. Well, actually among my Indonesian friends, I am famous for walking the fastest. Also famous as a tough traveler, because I made a record for walking 40 km a day. However, walking with a Japanese friend who didn’t have any fatigue, is really super, hahaha. I was wondering whether he was human, how come he didn’t look tired at all. ^^’ He offered me to exchange shoes. Hey, my feet were too small, size 36, hahaha. Well, just patiently endured the pain.

Finally arrived at Yamashita Park, really nostalgic! 10 years ago I was in the same place surrounded by birds looking for food. We sat on the bench while enjoying the view of Yamashita Park. I really felt like I wanted to drink warm coffee, because it was really cold. It was already Autumn, the night felt very cold. As my feet was aching, my friend rushed to find coffee, but could not find it because many café already closed. Never mind! Just being able to return to Yamashita Park after 10 years already made me very happy. ^^

A week before returning home, my friend and I took a chance to come back to Yokohama. My friend said in Yokohama there is a Ramen Museum and there is also a halal menu. Apparently the Halal menu is the vegan menu. I wanted to eat ramen with chicken topping, wkwkwk (so many wishes, haha). It’s OK, it was a nice experience after all, eating ramen in Tokyo with 1958 background.

After eating, we decided to look for a cafe where we could see the night view of Minato Mirai Yokohama, while talking about politics, history, and future.^^
